A 'Slightly Incredible' Fundraiser!
In
his first attempt at ‘Slightly Incredible,’ Mike Vallée raised an amazing
$16,800 and the funds are still coming in! On June 28th,
Mike and Caroline ran 9km and drove over 250 km to reach all 18 golf
courses in the West Island and surrounding areas. Thank you to all of our 18
sponsors and everyone who supported Mike and Caroline through their friendly
pledge war (in which Caroline came out on top!) For more information, please

Golden Opportunity!
Community Shares partnered
with Robert Richer Jeweller in Dorval for its first-ever gold
party and raised $1,089! Guests received an appraisal from certified
gemologist Pierre Soucy for their unwanted gold jewellery. Those choosing to
sell their gold received maximum dollar value, based on the closing price of
gold on the market that day. Bijouterie Richer then donated 20% of the amount to
West Island Community Shares. Thanks to all who attended
and to Robert Richer Jeweller. Our thanks also go out to Gourmet Chez
Vous, Restaurant Aikawa, and Edible Arrangements who generously donated goodies
for the evening.
Mansfield and Community Shares Zumbathon!
Mansfield
Athletic Club Pointe-Claire and West Island Community Shares teamed up for the
first ever Zumbathon in support of Community Shares on Saturday, June 12th
2010. Mansfield members and community partners rallied together for a fun
morning of a 90 minute super Zumba class and BBQ in the Mansfield parking
lot. A total of $1,200 was raised, with all proceeds
going directly to Community Shares!
Thank You Pointe-Claire Intermediate Hockey!
The
Pointe-Claire Intermediate Hockey Tournament took place April 28th through May
2nd and raised a total of $6,500 for West Island
Community Shares over a weekend of hockey at the Bob Birnie arena in
Pointe-Claire. The Pointe-Claire Intermediate Hockey Tournament has been
supporting Community Shares since 2007, raising over $19,000!
